“Knight Rider”?
As part of my course curriculum, I worked on automating the driving of a golf cart. The final test was a public demonstration and a couple local reporters were there to cover the event. I was interviewed on camera by a guy from WTIU (campus TV station), but my TV guide was wrong and I scheduled my PVR to record the wrong show.. so, I sadly don’t have that to post. A person from IU Media Relations was also there, however the only article I found is from before the test. The other reporter that I know was in attendance was a shy girl from the Indiana Daily Student (campus newspaper). Seems that all that she wrote was a blurb on the Campus News website page:
KNIGHT RIDER — A golf cart drives itself with a Global Positioning System created by informatics students at the Assembly Hall parking lot Friday afternoon. The system was a final project for professor Stefe [sic] Johnson’s informatics class. The students received grades based on speed and accuracy.

Also, one of my fellow students was smart enough to bring a camera to take pictures and captured a video for me as well. The following video is the cart operating under the sole control of my driver software while two gentleman take a joyride around the track (there are points marked on the ground):
Get the Flash Player to see this player.
The chatter you hear is student’s discussing the speed of the cart as one the highlights of my driver was that it handled throttle control. The top speed of the vehicle during the run was a little over 10 mph, about twice as fast as anyone else ran the vehicle. The video corresponds to the following map created from the “flight” recorder data (red dots correspond to those marks on the ground I mentioned):

Very impressive Scott. You can show grandma the project when you get home. Are you coming this weekend? I’m surprised Deb has not commented on your updating after she gave you such a hard time about it. I know she saw them as she told me to look when I talked to her Sunday. See ya!

Okay, I am commenting. I just can’t figure out what the hell I am commenting on! The golf cart is cute, and if I were a golfer, I would find it very convenient after a few too many beers. I wonder if you could do that to my “wheelies”
