A New World
Alright, so ever since my birthday I thought, “I will update more often,” but alas I have just not felt like it. On one hand, I am not a very outgoing person, so posting things is not something that I think to do, and on the other hand, I never really have that much going on. Meh.
I’ve been doing research on apartments in Bloomington for next fall. I’ve done a pretty poor job with that.. I went down there with only two places to visit because I had assured myself it would be just that simple. I suppose it could’ve been had I actually liked the places. They were ok places and apartments, but I don’t like the floorplans.
I left myself with the choice of having the kitchen buried in a corner or having the bathroom be on the far-side of the bedroom. In the first case, who would want to be in a closed-off, dark corner when they cook.. ugh.. In the second, having the bathroom attached the bedroom defeats the point of having a seperate bedroom area, I want to be able to have visitors go to the bathroom without having to dodge the extreme piles of clothing. So, yah.. a slightly wasted trip, in a way.
I did find a place with a more suitable floorplan managed by the same company that was recommended to me. Another advantage to this other place is that it is on the correct side of the campus (since 99% of my life will be going to the CS department’s building, having it be a mile closer is pretty handy), but then that also means it is farther away from all the stores.. so I guess that may be a wash. It was also a decent amount cheaper than either of the icky-floorplan places. So, what should be the new place looks like this:

Yah, so I won’t even begin to try to describe what an upgrade that will be.. Besides, I’m sure you’ll all visit me to see for yourself.
In other news, I am back to school after my spring break, and like everyone else, I am on the final stretch. Except that my final stretch goes until the end of May 19th.. at least I don’t have to take any finals.
Alright, I think that is as much as I can manage for now.

See I do check your site! Good luck on the final stretch! I did RSVP for the May 6th awards dinner. Talk to you soon.

Please let me know the ceremony information and approximate distance to the stage from where I can shoot. I will need to reserve a 300, 400, or 600mm depending on the need. I can shoot around 900mm with the XL2 for video for you in 16:9.

And I will need to know the distance as well since Peggy is a guest speaker . She will be doing it in the nude so I am using the 1200mm XL2 with a wide angle video in 33:6. Perhaps Matt and I will have a chance to discuss photography during dinner. He could use a little help from an old pro.
